This post will be just for paying subscribers as I may put more blog material behind the wall. Today I’m going to share my thoughts on the economics of mental healthcare (primarily labor supply), and the matching problems associated with finding high quality therapists from a heterogenous population of therapists that are best for a heterogeneous person suffering. You’ll see I mix the traditional marriage market models with canonical labor supply models while then explaining the value in my opinion, despite the controversies, around using AI for mental healthcare. But this is not for everyone so I’m putting it behind the wall.
I’ve always liked the metaphors of chapters when discussing moving from one milestone to another. I completed a milestone yesterday that was four years in the making formally, but I suppose informally goes back a bit further, perhaps 2011.
