I am finally back in the states after a week in Rome. Didn’t make it all the way to Waco as it’s 3am as I’m writing this and decided to get a hotel close by. The flight was delayed for hours and hours in Philly, and we even were told to deplane before then being told to put our stuff back. It would’ve been fine except I hadn’t slept from Italy, so I hit a wall on the last leg.
But now I’m here and at least I am not have “miles to go before I sleep” (Robert Frost). I am snug in a bed at a hotel just outside the airport and tomorrow I’ll hit the road and go home to see my kids, my cats and start moving all my books over to the new house box by box.
