Infinite possibilities
Also I forgot Wednesday was free content today so instead Friday will be free content day
Oops. Wednesday’s are free content day and I did a paid short post of me sharing my conjecture about the diffusion of causal inference ideas within economics. But in my defense, the post where I laid out the schedule did have the schedule written on a fridge full of typical ChatGPT misspellings. So here’s what I got planned. This is a little update and then tomorrow I’ll post my last entry in the “Lies, Damn Lies and OLS Weights” entry.
Below is a personal update though. I would share it with everyone, but what I’ve noticed is I am less likely to believe I am being performative if I put it behind the paywall. But you’re not missing any explainers, or nothing about causal inference or my career. Just some updates of things that happened recently, and my reflections on them. Tomorrow, as I said, I will post though a bunch of final simulations as well as some tables of estimates. I wanted to spend the day thinking of the best presentation. I think maybe kernel densities showing the bias of Seven or so models, but I also wanted to show four or five different data generating processes. And I wanted it to not be such a slog to read too. Thanks again, and good luck with your day. And if you’re on the market, good luck friend. I’m rooting for you. Remember — life is full of infinite possibilities. A good friend taught me that. Life is full of infinite possibilities, and everything is a gift. You may just have to sometimes stop and catch your breath and even force yourself to find that gift, as admittedly many things hurt like hell. But good luck. It was my birthday last month and I have decided to send you my birthday wishes to use however you want.
