Mixtape Book Sales

Today, I got the final tallies from Yale University Press UK for my Chinese sales, which allowed me to finally know how much I’ve sold of the book since January 2021.

English translation: 20,297 sold
Japanese translation: 2,396 sold
Chinese translation: 10,011 sold

Total: 32,704 sold

A Korean translation is coming out this August 2024, too, making the book available in three translations plus English. How much is this though? Today I’m going to walk you through a little bit about the market for books, the process of getting a book deal, the impact that books can have (and the impact they cannot have), and where things are going for me. This’ll be behind the paywall. But before I do that, I want to say thank you to everyone. The Mixtape has changed my life. The joy I feel now over having written it, and being able to keep writing, is larger than I can put into words.
