Next-Day Podcast Transcript: Interview with Dr. Janet Currie of Princeton University
New Subscriber Benefit: Next-Day Podcast Transcripts!
I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make this Substack more valuable for my paying subscribers who support me each month. Recently, I noticed a friend’s Substack doing something simple yet effective—alongside his video and audio podcasts, he also posted transcripts. This got me thinking: why not do the same? It’s an easy addition that adds extra value. You’ll get early access to the next podcast episode, and I’ll be able to start on the transcriptions—a task I need to do anyway.
So, moving forward, I’ll be posting transcripts of upcoming episodes exclusively for paying subscribers. I’m also considering doing the same for past episodes. Since we’ve already done over a hundred interviews, I want to approach this carefully to avoid overwhelming your inboxes. I’ll be figuring out the best way to roll this out.
Starting Tuesday, August 27th, I’ll kick off the fourth season with a fantastic guest: Janet Currie. This interview is one of the most compelling I’ve had, running a full 90 minutes, which makes the written version even more valuable. Plus, I’ve filled the interview with hyperlinks to many of the fascinating references she mentions throughout, adding an extra layer of depth and context for those who want to explore further. For now, I’m planning to release the transcript on Monday, August 25th, which is a day before the podcast itself, but I’m still playing around with the timing—maybe even a week earlier might be better. We’ll figure it out together.
Meanwhile, I have two treats for you today. First, below the paywall, you’ll find this season’s new music—an acoustic cover of “Small Worlds” by Mac Miller, beautifully sung and arranged by my nephews for their grandmother, my mom. It’s a gorgeous piece that you’ll hear tomorrow if you like. And second, of course, is the transcript of this first episode.
Thank you again for your continued support. Your support allows me to do this and I enjoy doing this!
