Every other Tuesday
This is simple an announcement that my podcast, Mixtape: the Podcast, will update with new episodes every other week. My goal is to drop a new episode every other Tuesday on here, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google and if I can figure it out, Stitcher and whichever else. You’d be surprised to learn either this is easy and I am dumb, or this is easy and I am not dumb (unlikely), or this is not easy and I am dumb (tempting), or this is not easy and I not dumb (wishful). Whichever, I at least know how to get it on here, apple and Spotify. So here is my ensuing schedule:
Sandy Darity interview will drop next Tuesday. Sandy was such an interesting person to interview. I could’ve talked to him for hours. That one is in the can, locked and loaded. We talk about growing up in the Middle East, the blood path Duke makes all employees take to not love the UNC basketball program and the bold defiance he has taken to that by openly embracing his cherished Tarheels, stratification economics, group identity, reparations and questioning the foundation of the modern economics program — scarcity itself.
Guido Imbens interview will drop two weeks from Tuesday. We talk about his Nobel prize winning work on instrumental variables with Josh Angrist, his collaborations with people like Rubin, Athey, Angrist and Abadie, his mentorship from Gary Chamberlain, as well as his tenure denial at Harvard. As always, he shows himself to be one of the most humble, kind, curious and open minded people I’ve met in our profession,
Lined up I also have planned interviews with Chris Blattman, Michael Grossman, Nick Bloom, Larry Katz, and several more. If you’re reading this, I may be coming after you soon too.
