I have been working on a few substacks on the history of diff in diff based on some patterns and some detective work. Mainly about me trying to understand why there was kind of “second wave” of diff in diff that started in 2011. I wasn’t able to figure it out but I have some new graphs at least plus it pushed me to go back further to find the first time a precise modern definition of parallel trends was written down. I think I found it but that’s made me get bogged down. But hopefully I’ll get it written.
But before I tell you about workshops coming up, a little about the week. Man was this ever an impossibly hard week. Here’s what happened.
