Origins of me doing workshops
When I was on Twitter, I was on Twitter 24/7. That’s what Twitter is — it’s like CNN, but you’re the anchor and you’ve got news you need to report. Nonstop news. Nonstop conversations. Nonstop ideas. One part of my Twitter life was just banter, conversation, and over sharing, wearing my heart on my sleeve, over sharing some more, making jokes, and trying to learn from other people.
But another part of Twitter for me was the econometrics explainers. And much of that I have slowly migrated over here to my substack because I finally cracked the code of how to make the econometrics explainers serve the book projects. Much of what I have worked out on the substack has helped me restructure the book itself. I need to write and teach things first before I can write it. And I’m not the only one — Mas-Colell told me the same thing. In his micro theory book with Jerry and Whinston, he said they taught a three part micro sequence at Harvard for a long time. …
